The path to self discovery: Requires failure
Day 4 of the 4th annual Explore More Summit. This is a free online conference that I would highly recommend; This year’s topics explore discovering our passions and joys. As I follow the the conference, I will try and share my experiences and encourage you to provide feedback or questions.
Today The feeling that is most prominent in my life is frustration. Mostly targeted at a software feature that I have been working on for nearly two weeks. The past few days have seen great strides towards completion, but I am not anywhere near complete.
Today my body wants me to know that it is here. and angry.
If I move in the direction of my pleasure and satisfaction, one thing I might do is to take a break, find some smaller bugs in the system to fix so that I can remind myself that I am still making progress–no matter how small it may be.
One part of myself that needs a little extra compassion are my eyes. Yesterday I had my annual eye exam, after which my eyes take a few days to adjust to normal dilation and focus.
A small affirmation or reminder I’d like to carry with me today is to remember to change the world, not through grand gestures–but by taking the time to make someone else have a better life, even if only for one day.
