The path to self discovery begins with self
Today commences the 4th annual Explore More Summit. This is a free online conference that I would highly recommend; This year’s topics explore discovering our passions and joys. As I follow the the conference, I will try and share my experiences and encourage you to provide feedback or questions.
Today The feeling that is most prominent in my life is hope. The past two weeks have seen a lot of stress, the details of which should stay private; yet I am hopeful that the events and feelings that have caused that stress have passed.
Today my body wants me to know mental stress can cause manifest in physical pain. Old injuries that had been completely forgotten are now bubbling back into the picture, reminding me that I am not quite as resilient as I once was.
If I move in the direction of my pleasure and satisfaction, one thing I might do is to stop and take more time to breath, more time to relax, and spend a little more time with my Wife, with whom my time is already shorter than either of us would prefer.
One part of myself that needs a little extra compassion is my mind. Today I choose to take some extra time for myself for self-reflection, and to remember to be the best version of myself.
A small affirmation or reminder I’d like to carry with me today is an old fortune cookie, given to me by a close friend, as a reminder that “it is not the years in your life–but the life in your years that count”.
